Boat Hut Insight
When choosing a jackplate like the SeaStar™ Xtreme, remember that speed in adjusting engine height is great, but the real win is how it impacts your fishing or cruising experience. Being able to fine-tune your engine height on the fly can save you from snags in shallow water and improve fuel efficiency. Just don’t get too carried away adjusting it every few minutes – your passengers might start thinking you’re trying to land the boat on the moon!
Tip: Before installation, check your boat’s transom thickness and reinforcement. Even the strongest jackplate won’t perform well if the mounting surface isn’t solid.
