Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Deckwash Outlet require installation?
Yes, it is a flush-mounted outlet that sits within the wall, floor, or other surfaces. Simply thread in any universal 1/2″ NPT fitting based on your plumbing type (copper, PEX, etc.). For quick installation, we recommend using PEX tubing. The optional elbow inlet can be positioned in any direction while maintaining a watertight seal.
What else do I need to install?
You will need:
-
- 1.5″ hole saw
- 1/2″ NPT male-threaded plumbing adapter
- Teflon tape
- Philips screwdriver
Can I install it vertically?
Yes, the heavy-duty swivel cover allows for vertical installation. However, note that if mounted vertically, it will not self-drain like our House Hydrants. This is manageable in warm climates but may require draining in freezing conditions.
How much clearance do I need?
Approximately 3.5″ minimum with the optional 90° elbow inlet. With a plumbing fitting added to the standard straight inlet, total clearance will be about 4.5″.
What is the flow rate?
The flow rate is 6.8 GPM at 52 PSI.
Will it provide freeze protection?
It will provide freeze protection only when installed horizontally. When mounted vertically, it will not drain.
