BayStar side mount steering system – standard 1.4 helm Full Kit
The BayStar side mount steering system with a standard helm is designed by Seastar Marine for most single outboard driven vessels up to 150HP. It features the BayStar Plus outboard hydraulic steering, which includes patented No Feedback steering lock valves for enhanced control. The helm provides super low friction, ensuring smooth and comfortable steering with 5.5 turns lock to lock. Its balanced design fits most splashwells and allows for full engine movement.
To order the BayStar Steering kit, follow these three easy steps:
- Check the dimensions of the helm, which is a front mount hydraulic helm used with both front and side mount cylinders. It can be easily installed on your existing console, creating a professional finish. The helm has a convenient front of console filling point for hydraulic oil and a simple purging process.
- Verify the dimensions of the front mount cylinder, which is a compact unit suitable for narrow splashwells requiring only 534mm width. The steering cylinder is protected within the splashwell and can fit most outboards up to 150HP. It is designed to fit the outboard tilt tube.
- Assess the splashwell to ensure there is enough room for full engine tilt. Compare the dimensions with the listed requirements to ensure compatibility.
The BayStar steering system offers the simplest hydraulic installation with a common cylinder that fits most engines. It features convenient tilt tube mounting according to ABYC NmmA BIA standards. The steering system includes an anodized alloy cylinder for reduced friction and longer seal life, as well as a chromed stainless steel push rod for extended seal life. It also incorporates patented No Feedback steering lock valves with 5.9 turns lock to lock.
