Description
VETUS Flexible Engine Mount – Type LMX (Max Load 140-500kg)
This type has been designed with particular regard to the power to weight ratio of modern diesel engines. The weight of an engine, in comparison to its thrust, has become lower and lower.
Type LMX guarantees optimum damping of vibrations, even at idling revs. It has a very high horizontal and aft stiffness which allows the acceptance of considerable thrust. The cushioning of vibrations in horizontal direction athwart-ships is of equal excellence.
STIFFNESS RATIO
- VERTICAL: 1
- ATHWART SHIPS: 1
- FORE AND AFT: 7
See complete specifications in the table below.
TYPE | STIFFNESS RATIO – VERTICAL | STIFFNESS RATIO – ATHWART SHIPS | STIFFNESS RATIO – FORE AND AFT | MINIMUM LOAD (KG) – STATIC | MINIMUM COMPRESSION (mm) – STATIC | MAXIMUM LOAD (KG) – STATIC + DYNAMIC | MAXIMUM COMPRESSION (mm) – STATIC + DYNAMIC | HARDNESS IN ° SHORE |
LMX140 | 1 | 1 | 7 | 85kg | 3mm | 140kg | 5mm | 35° |
LMX210 | 1 | 1 | 7 | 125kg | 3mm | 210kg | 5mm | 45° |
LMX340 | 1 | 1 | 7 | 205kg | 3mm | 340kg | 5mm | 55° |
LMX500 | 1 | 1 | 7 | 300kg | 3mm | 500kg | 5mm | 65° |
The torque of an engine is one of the deciding factors for determination of the load applied to the engine mounts. When more powerful engines are installed, it is important to use the following formula to define the load per support in kilograms (4 supporting points).
engine weight in kg | + | kW x 487 x reduction of gearbox | = | max. load per support in kg |
number of supports | engine revs/min. x centre to centre spacing in metres of the longitudinal engine bearers |
OVERALL PRODUCT SIZE (L/W/H): 181mm x 89mm x 180mm
