VETUS Hydraulic Bow and Stern Thrusters including Hydro Motor

This model of hydraulic bow thruster in the VETUS range features a hydraulic motor as standard, driven by a hydraulic pumb.
If a hydraulic pump and the associated tank are already installed on board, this assembly can then be used in most cases for driving the bow thruster as well.
Some marine engine manufacturers, e.g. VETUS DEUTZ, supply as standard a special PTO (Power Take Off) connection as standard which greatly simplifies the installation of the hydraulic pump.
In addition to the pump and the hydraulic storage tank, VETUS can also supply the required load-sensing and control devices as well as the high-pressure hydraulic hoses, complete with end fittings.
The hydraulic bow thruster may be fitted to GRP, steel or aluminium tunnels or used as a stern thruster, using the appropriate installation kit.
The hydraulic thrusters provide reliable, continuous operation, delivering solid power and dependability without needing electrical connections at the thruster or pumps. Designed for minimal maintenance, these thrusters feature advanced proportional control options, ensuring precise and effortless maneuvering.
For those with existing hydraulic systems capable of providing the necessary flow and working pressure, integrating hydraulic thrusters is often a straightforward process. Comprehensive hydraulic systems are also available, providing a complete solution tailored to your vessel’s specific needs.
For even greater flexibility, the hydraulic bow thrusters can also be powered by a specially prepared diesel power pack instead of a pump on the main engine. This configuration includes the matching hydraulic pump as part of the power pack. Installing a power pack onboard can significantly reduce the required generator set capacity by operating hydraulic functions typically powered electrically.
